Why your New Year Resolution should be an Inheritance plan

by | Inheritance

Lots of us like to start a New Year with a clean slate.  We set ourselves goals and targets, resolutions to improve ourselves.  We plan to go to the gym, start a course, clear out the closets…..

If you have not written a will yet, making this your New Year resolution is an easily achievable legacy that will help your loved ones in the future.

With the spate of celebrity deaths of 2016, we are now beginning to see the fall out of those who had prepared an inheritance plan and those who had not.

George Michael, who died on Christmas Day 2016, had a will in place and his estate of £105 million will pass mostly to his sister as he wished.

Prince died intestate in 2016 and his $300 million estate will be divided according to Minnesota state law.

If you want to make a New Year’s resolution that gives peace of mind and satisfaction, write a will.  Your loved ones will definitely appreciate your efforts in the future.
